Making a difference

Today one of my more hard-work academics came into my office. He didn't have a problem, he didn't have a complaint, he didn't have a query. He pointed out that he's been in post for a year now, and wanted to thank me for helping him to settle in to a new job in a new university with all the changes both at home and at work that had entailed for him. It's the little things that make the difference to a day, or to how you view a person.
